“The feeling of isolation is what drew my eye to this scene. We were on a trip playing some of the lesser-known courses along California's Central Coast when this random nine-hole course—Sea Pines in Los Osos—piqued our interest. The course and town were odd, to say the least. You didn’t know if you were in a fishing village, Twin Peaks, or a flyover town in Kentucky. But in the northwest corner of the course, a backdrop of giant sand dunes in the distance made the green feel like it belonged in Bandon or on a gnarly Irish coastline. I loved how the photo turned out, because the longer you look at it, the less sure you are of where it could be in the world.”
